Our Constitution

 

ARTICLE 1

 

 

NAME:

The name of the association is: "Christian Senior Citizens Home of Chatham - Ontario, Incorporated on June 30, 1970.

 

 

 

 

 

ARTICLE 2

 

 

BASIS:          

The basis of the Society is the Infallible Word of God, as Interpreted by the Reformed Standards, expressly the Belgic Confession, The Heidelberg Catechism, The Canons of Dordt, and The Westminster Confession of Faith.

 

 

 

 

 

ARTICLE 3

 

 

PURPOSE:

Recognizing that the exercise of Christian mercy is a communal responsibility, the Corporation believes that it is also a communal responsibility, to care for senior citizens, by providing senior citizens facilities for their use and benefit.

 

 

 

 

 

ARTICLE 4

 

 

MEMBERSHIP:  

Any person twenty-one (21) years of age or older who adheres to the Reformed Confessions as outlined in Article 2 of this Constitution, may be permitted to membership in the Christian Senior Citizens Home Corporation of Chatham, subject to approval of the Board of Directors.

 

 

 

 

 

ARTICLE 5

 

 

BOARD OF DIRECTORS: 

The affairs of the Corporation shall be managed by a Board of Directors, each of whom at that time of is/her appointment and throughout his/her term of office shall be a member of  the Corporation.

   

 

 ARTICLE 6 

LIABILITY:

The private property of the members and the directors of the Christian Senior Citizens Home of Chatham, Ont. Corporation shall be exempt from liability for the debts of the Christian Senior Citizens Home of Chatham, Ont. Corporation.

 

 

 

ARTICLE 7

MEETINGS:

The Corporation shall hold an Annual Membership Meeting once each year. Special meetings may be called by the President upon decision of the Board of Directors, when a meeting is judged necessary.

 

 

 

ARTICLE 8

FINANCES:

The funds necessary for operation of the Home(s) shall be obtained from the membership fees, and other legiti­mate sources, and shall be applied for the furtherance of the purpose of the Corporation.

 

 

 

ARTICLE 9

AMENDMENTS:

The funds necessary for operation of the Home(s) shall be obtained from the membership fees, and other legiti­mate sources, and shall be applied for the furtherance of the purpose of the Corporation.

 

 

 

ARTICLE 10

DISSOLUTION:

This Corporation shall not be dissolved other than by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the membership. If two/thirds (2/3) of the members are not present at a duly called meeting, for the purpose of dissolving this Corporation, then a two-thirds (2/3) vote of those present at the following meeting, called within a reasonable length of time, shall decide. Upon decision to dissolve, the properties and the monies belonging to the Corporation shall, after the liqui­dation, be donated to any charitable cause or causes being carried on in the Province of Ontario.
